What dental clinic software is for
A dental clinic runs on three desks at once: the chair, the reception counter and the back office. Most clinics still connect them with paper registers, a billing program, Excel sheets and three or four WhatsApp groups. Dental clinic software replaces that with one record per patient that every desk reads and writes.
The test of good software is simple: nothing should be typed twice. When the doctor marks a treatment done, the bill, the stock, the follow-up and the register entry should follow from it.
What to expect from dental software in India
Western dental software is built for insurance claims in dollars. An Indian clinic needs different things. This is the checklist we built ORALZY against:
| Need | Why it matters in India | How ORALZY handles it |
|---|---|---|
| Appointments and recalls | No-shows and forgotten follow-ups are the biggest leak of revenue | Calendar with drag-to-reschedule, wait list, daily token system, online self-booking and automatic recall messages |
| Dental chart and treatment plan | The plan is what the patient agrees to pay for | Photo-realistic dental chart, phased treatment plans, Rx presets, consent and hospital-format discharge summary |
| GST billing | Dental treatment is GST-exempt but pharmacy goods are taxable | Exemption applied to services, pharmacy taxed correctly, GSTR-1 JSON and 3B worksheet for your CA |
| Patients answer WhatsApp, not email | Official WhatsApp Business (Cloud) API for reminders, bills, prescriptions, consent PDFs and X-rays | |
| UPI payments | Most payments at the counter are UPI | Big counter QR, part payment, advance and registration fee — each rupee lands on the right bill |
| X-ray | Images sit on a separate RVG/OPG computer | Windows bridge imports X-rays automatically; DICOM Worklist, VDDS-media and HL7 supported |
| Pharmacy and stock | Expired stock and missing batches fail audits | Batch-wise stock with FEFO, expiry returns, barcode POS and purchase orders |
| Staff | Attendance and salary are done by hand | Face-punch attendance, leaves, payroll and payslips |
| NABH | Accreditation needs years of registers and SOPs | Registers fill from the day's work, mock audit, 53 bilingual posters and a one-click audit bundle — see NABH software for dental clinics |
| Government schemes | RGHS and similar schemes need separate rates and claim photos | Dual rate cards, geo-stamped claim photos and claim status tracking |
| Language | Front-desk staff work in their own language | UI switches between 31 languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi and Gujarati |
One system instead of separate modules
Many products sell a "suite": a billing module, an appointment module and an inventory module that share a login but not their data. ORALZY is built on one data layer. A bill updates pharmacy stock, a clinical note feeds the patient record, and a completed treatment fills the NABH register.
The same system runs on the web, as an Android app and as a Windows desktop app. A clinic can run entirely from a phone if it wants to; the mobile app is not a cut-down companion.
Support you can hold us to
ORALZY puts support in the contract: 30-minute response and 24-hour resolution on every ticket. If we miss either deadline, the clinic gets 15 days free. Custom reports and workflow changes are planned with you separately and are not part of that 24-hour promise.
Data, privacy and backups
- Cloud-hosted in the Mumbai (ap-south-1) region; data stays in India.
- Each clinic is isolated at the database layer. Multi-branch groups see their branches together on one owner dashboard.
- Nightly automated backups and encryption at rest.
- Data handling follows India's DPDP Act 2023. See the privacy policy.
